Community Service

Our Unit supports TRAILSEEKERS, a local group whose goal is to empower children and strengthen our community.

Each year forty-two new Trailseekers are brought into the program. Children between the ages of five and eight are primarily identified by educators, counselors and clergy. These children first are given a five day camp experience at Orcas Island with a one-on-one high school mentor. Trailseekers offers weekly gatherings which serve as followup to the Orcas Encampment. Trailseekers are allowed to stay in the program until they are eighteen. Many of our high-school mentors were Trailseekers themselves.

Our unit helps provide sack lunches and a tote bag that includes clothing and personal hygiene products.

In addition to Trailseekers, YCSRA donates to the following organizations: 
Central Washington Ag Museum, Pegasus Project, Madison House/UGM for needy children, LaCasa Hogar , CASA and Nicken's Place at Camp Hope as well as Rod's House.

YCSRA members individually donate countless hours, goods and services to food banks, "Toys for Tots", homeless shelters, Harman Senior Center, schools and churches just to name a few.
